The Driver App Redesign was a multi-year effort to reimagine the core experience for earners around the world. Originating as a design-led initiative, our mission was to make driving with Uber simpler, smarter, and more empowering. Over time, the app had grown complex—features layered on top of each other until the core experience felt heavy. We saw an opportunity to restore clarity and confidence to every trip by reducing cognitive load, improving session quality, and surfacing what drivers need most at the right moment. The result is a refreshed foundation built around focus, flow, and trust.

We led this effort from concept through launch, collaborating closely with partners across design, research, and product. Together we built alignment across orgs, defined a clear north star vision, and iterated relentlessly through prototypes, testing, and workshops. What launched was more than a redesign—it was a renewed platform for innovation. With a reimagined home, inbox, and menu, the new system has already improved feature discoverability, deepened engagement, and inspired org-wide adoption as the model for future driver experiences.

Encouraging copy and intentional visuals guide the users in the moment while ML validates behind the scenes, creating a seamless flow that scales. Since launch, we have seen meaningful improvements in clearer, more useful photos and faster moderation, ultimately making food discovery on Uber Eats more reliable, helpful, and inspiring.
